Over the past few days I’ve been reading the accounts of various gay celebrities, the most notable being Chris Crocker and Jeffree Star. I find that Chris Crocker continues to dominate the limelight despite his past appearances on popular international news networks proclaiming his undying love for Britney Spears. However, I have become rather disenchanted with these gay celebrities as they continue to make homosexuals, in general, look more like a generalized group of flaming, flamboyant psychopaths, and that’s not what we are.
As I have been guilty of generalizations before, I should mention that this stereotypical act by both of the above mentioned has done nothing but create more tension between the gays and the rest of the world. We are now becoming more polarized as more and more “gay celebrities” are surfacing with idiocy and demise against other sects of society.
I, for one, am guilty of generalizing Christianity, when in reality, not all Christians are to blame for the actions of others, most notably the Westboro Baptist Church, in Topeka, Kansas. However, other groups, that are against homosexuality, have begun using Chris Crocker and Jeffree Star as prime examples as to why the world shouldn’t tolerate homosexuality.
While I’m not against Mr. Star and Ms./Mr. Crocker sharing their viewpoints with the world, it should be noted that both are performing stereotypical acts of homosexuality that are not necessarily true to the entire sect. We are not all like Mr. Star and the Shim, but rather, we all have our own personalities and traits that make us different.
The only gay celebrity that has not done damage, for namesake, to the gay world, would have to be Matthew Lush, that has gone so far as promoting the donation of money through SocialVibe to help children get clean water. Mr. Lush and other famous video bloggers, on behalf of homosexuality, (another one that has recently become recognized on YouTube, iLarry), have developed a sense of understanding for the adequate portrayal of how homosexuals should be viewed. Neither individual plays off the “gay” card, but simply states their points and moves on with it. Neither one uses course language or does things that are stereotypical that continue to fuel a never ending fire that seems as if it would consume all of humanity.
In an effort to completely keep gays out of the flamethrowers, it should be known that not all of gaydom acts like Mr. Star or Mr./Ms. Crocker and that people should open their eyes to the fact that other people have been increasingly intellectual in the “Gay World” and have educated themselves on issues that are far more prevalent to society.

Randall added these pithy words on Aug 06 08 at 1:44 amI completely disagree with you. Jeffree Star and Chris Crocker adequately express themselves as members of the “Gay World,” as you would put it. I don’t understand why you feel the need to persecute those who are developed in their own ways. If they want to be transsexual homosexuals, let them. It’s their own life. They can do what they want.
Andy added these pithy words on Aug 06 08 at 1:47 amThat isn’t what I was saying at all, and frankly I find that a grave misconception of what was even posted. I just said that the way they act forces people to think that almost all homosexuals act like them, particularly because they are in the limelight. If there were more sophisticated gays, like politicians (which there are plenty of, view Wikipedia and search for “Gay Politicians”), we might have a little bit more of an excuse to fight for our own rights and develop a common goal of security for our difference in society.
Jordan added these pithy words on Aug 06 08 at 1:50 ami agree completely with randall. it seems liek your attacking them when they are status symbols among us.
plus, i hate matthew lush. hes just a tool.
<3 Jordan XOXO
Andy added these pithy words on Aug 06 08 at 1:55 am@Jordan – The comment about Matthew Lush is absurd. He is far from a tool. I’ve sat in on a number of his chat sessions with his fans and it was great to see how many people cared for the Gay God. He’s a very interesting guy and is also someone who could teach the other gay celebrities a lesson. ;]
Robert added these pithy words on Aug 06 08 at 2:04 amI think this a dumb fight i think we need to get off of who is a Gay God or who is the best celebrity because no gay celeb is ever going to change our government and yes i do agree Mr. Lush is heading up a campaign to raise money and that is awesome but it is all the same soon after we all know it, all of us are going to be like who are these people. I think we are not taken seriously becuase of what we do i mean Mr. Lush has been posting about webcaming and chris crocker is nto xpressing his transexual nature in a way that make sit easier for peopel to undertsand and handle, i cannot say that i know who the other guy is but i think we are taking them into account as saviors when they are condimning us to what we are trying to get away from.
Alex added these pithy words on Aug 06 08 at 2:48 amI hate all of them. Chris Crocker is an attention bearing whore, Jeffree Star is an ugly twat with too many fucking tattoos, Matthew Lush is a douchebag that makes vegan brownies, and you are just as guilty as them for commanding attention.
We all know who you are and what you’re trying to do here. You’re fucking instigating the Christians and the gay community by putting this shit out here. You’re a fucktard.
Anthony added these pithy words on Aug 06 08 at 3:02 amI’m not entirely certain the point being made here is understood, especially given the comments, though I believe Robert’s perspective, especially at the end, is fairly accurate. The notion that certain gay celebrities, like Chris Crocker and Jeffree Star, are casting a negative light on the entire gay community NOT because of what they say, support, or believe, but because of the means by which they express themselves. If Chris wants to be a transexual, that’s his choice and everyone should respect it. But to deify them as personalities who speak for ALL gay men (and women) is grossly inaccurate. The stereotype is that we’re all flamers, and we should try not to provoke such images. And the brief Christian comment specifically vindicates the rest of Christianity in opposition to the actions WBC. Read, then comment. Don’t fly off the handle and characterize something that isn’t true.
Daniel added these pithy words on Aug 06 08 at 3:03 amI think that everyone here, myself included, needs to educate themselves on each of these people and then say something. To all these people bashing: what YOU’RE doing is instigating a situation that shouldn’t even exist. I suggest to Alex to read on the westboro church and then I can guarantee your position will change. This has so much more depth than whether a guy is ugly or not. This is exactly what this post is about. Yet we have the majority of people here talking about these individuals’ lifestyles! Who cares if Matthew Lush makes vegan brownies?! You dont make them so dont worry about it! We need to stop being so judgemental because I can assure you that you wouldn’t handle the negativity that these people face on a daily basis because they ARE, at this point, public figures. Just accept them for the people they are… not what they look like. Or whether or not he/she is a fucking abercrombie model.
Alex added these pithy words on Aug 06 08 at 3:15 amAnthony – I believe I read this just fine. I think all of them are fucking ridiculous and shouldn’t be allowed to post on the internet in any way. I used to like Andy’s stuff until he ventured off onto this homosexual bullshit that seems more like he’s an activist than a down to earth homo.
Daniel – Shut the fuck up.
Jay added these pithy words on Aug 06 08 at 6:02 amI think I’m the only one that agrees with you here. lol.
