An Epistle to Parents

We believe in God, like you believe in God. We believe in love, like you believe in love. We are your sons and daughters, because we are who you raised us to be. We love the same Jesus you love, and that same Jesus that you love, loves us, too, and we know this because you and the Bible told us so.

Jesus is our Saviour, not you. You were brought here to be our parents; our guidance. You were brought here to love us and care for us, not be our judges and our deliverers. You are not here to cast judgment on our actions and you are not here to deliver us from our sins. You are not here to change us, but instead, here to love and guide us.

Jesus said, “A new commandment that I give unto you, that you love one another.” Jesus said, “He who is without sin, let them cast the first stone.” Jesus said, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy.” Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” Jesus said, “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.”

Jesus would be ashamed of you for judging us. Jesus would be ashamed of you for turning your back on us. He would be ashamed of you and your actions; not us. We still have all of the love in the world for you, even after all the wrong you may have done to us.
