- Why Shouldn’t I Use WordPress?
It has become increasingly evident to myself and several other of my designer friends that WordPress has become the top content management system for websites. So far, WordPress has managed to outweigh almost every other content management system and is now, thanks to the e-commerce plugin, annihilating the e-commerce industry with its incredible functionality.
Currently, a majority of the websites that I design are ran on WordPress’ CMS platform. WordPress’ functionality surpasses a majority of CMS systems, including Expression Engine, a costly CMS system that has limited functionality.
Recently, I convinced a client of mine to convert their site to WordPress due to the fact that it would save them money in the long run with updates and maintenance. WordPress, if equipped with the right plugins, will definitely maintain itself, unless of course you start messing around with the PHP and have no idea what you’re doing.
However, WordPress provides an easily customizable interface and if your template designer is good enough, they will import a management system for your template allowing you to change colours and other important attributes to give your site a little bit of change.
