As I read in horror and saw first hand the disgusting actions of the so-called Westboro Baptist Church, I began to wonder where on Earth their actual thought process came from. I couldn’t find it. Even in the Bible, which they profess to know inside and out, which states that you should “love the sinner but hate the sin.” As such, the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas has said, it’s too late for all of us “fag-enablers.” We’re all going to Hell.
I watched Louis Theroux’s documentary for the BBC entitled, America’s Most Hated Family. In an effort to understand their viewpoint, Louis Theroux tried to get into their minds and let them know that what they were doing is wrong, however, it was also noted that they have probably been brainwashed due to their “religious convictions.”
Although, I’d like to take this one step further. If this church has such heavy religious convictions, how come they didn’t go to Sweden after the Swedish government threatened to arrest them? They must figure that something isn’t right about what they’re doing. According to GodHatesSweden.com (it’s counterparts are GodHatesAmerica.com, GodHatesIreland.com, and GodHatesCanada.com), King Karl Gustav has threatened to sue the WBC in an effort to stop their message of hate against his family. What makes me start chuckling is the fact that that the WBC is so arrogant and insolent that they have no idea that the King of Sweden has absolutely no political power. If they wanted to even influence a decision, going to the King is not the way to go. You should go to Prime Minister Reinfeldt and speak to him about what needs to be done. The King and his family have absolutely no say in the affairs of the state, but then again, if the WBC were even just a little bit more educated, they would understand that.
However, the WBC continues to state that the United States promotes the “fag” agenda. (In an effort to keep profane language out of this post, I will refrain from continuing the usage of “fag”.) Again, if the WBC were even a tiny bit educated, they would understand that the United States DOES NOT promote the “homo agenda”. Do they realize that in most US states you can’t get married? Do they realize that some US states FORBID gay adoptions? Do they realize that most homosexuals in the United States are forced to stay closeted because they fear for their lives?
I guess not. The WBC ceases to realize that homosexuals in the United States are treated more like diseased creatures than human beings. There are only a handful of US states that allow gay marriage and these states have been synonymous with liberalized freedom. Here’s a story for all of you insolent bigots: my uncle was gay. He died from AIDS. However, prior to having AIDS he adopted two children, Desiree and Raymond. Upon discovery that my uncle was gay, the State of Florida ripped them away from him and placed them in a foster home. This is all under the pretense that my uncle was gay. Now, if the United States is following a “fag agenda,” don’t you think they would be a little bit more tolerant of homosexual adoptions?
In addition to that, marriages in the other US states do not constitute legal marriage in any other US state. For instance, I live in Indiana. If I were to get married to my partner in Vermont, it would definitely NOT be recognized here. That, I can promise you. This state alone tried to ban gay marriage in SJR-7, an amendment to the Indiana State Constitution that would have forbidden homosexuals to marry and would have restricted it to “one man and one woman”. While I’m not entirely opposed to the ban on gay marriage (for monetary purposes, I’m against it, but love and commitment-wise, I’m all for it), I’d have to say that I am rather disgusted by the fact that this “church” thinks that this nation follows the “homosexual agenda”. Honestly, if we were following this self-proclaimed agenda, I think the US would have a lot more homosexuals out in the open.
Unfortunately, religious intolerance is prevalent in the United States and we will never see a day where anything other than what the Holy Bible says is tolerated. Again, I respect Christian philosophy and opinion, but honestly, it has no place in our government, at all. Religion and government are usually kept apart for a reason. They incite violence and wars and sometimes inflict such great casualties that can never be recovered. If we truly value human life the way we say we do, we would stop the unnecessary incitement of violence and be more tolerable of people who aren’t “like us”.

Daniel added these pithy words on Jul 26 08 at 4:56 pmVERY, VERY well said. I was watching videos about this church about 2 weeks ago, and their claims are unbelievable. They’ll all get what’s coming to them.
Andy added these pithy words on Jul 26 08 at 5:40 pmHopefully. It’s really disturbing how ridiculous they are. I wish they weren’t so insane, you know?
